Say no to harrassment!
Who will save us from the madness in the Kenyan Matatu industry? As citizens are we capable of making any changes? I personally have gotten into the point of joining abit of the madness, as the saying goes if you cant beat them join them. I made a resolution to complain less and act more but am not sure how I can go about it here. All in all somebody has to hear our cry, there is little we can do individually but maybe that little can pile up and become something someday.
I know many would tell me to buy my own car but am nowhere near there financially and besides that more than half of Kenyans cant afford to drive so the public transport remains our main means of getting by. I've had nasty experiences with the matatu touts upto the point of wishing i owned a gun. Maybe I would teach some of them a lesson that money doesnt grow on trees. Today so many Kenyans will testify of having been robbed off by touts in many ways. Here are some of them;
That could be funny but annoying at the same time. Do we really have to go through such drama everytime we have to take a matatu? I dont think so. I look forward to having a transport system like that of London and other developed countries. Its possible but before that I will not be easily robbed by any tout especially not when I can avoid it. We need a jicho pevu on some of these issues and incase anyone is looking for someone to take part in the shooting PICK ME. Say no to harrassment.

- Having to wait for your change in the name of them lacking loose money only for the conductors to swap on the way leaving you all stranded and with no one to pin down.
- Getting into a matatu having been told a particular price but as soon as it starts raining the amount hikes as you watch.
- We know a matatu is a 14 seater but how many times have we been squeezed upto 19 people, if you know what I mean by sambaza. (I tolerate this every day)
- This one is more annoying, getting into a matatu heading to destination A and paying the full amount but when you get somewhere in between they suddenly change routes and return less change meaning you have to wait for the next one and pay extra cash.
- Many people have lost their mobile phones in matatus and am sure almost 90% of these thiefs collaborate with the touts.
- Hiking fare to double amounts because everyone wants to get home or at work on time.
