New year things

Happy new year loved ones. I hope I did not take too long to wish you all a nice one, they say better late than never.

Nothing much has changed except we have started counting days from January all over again. It is therefore a good chance to make new decisions, try alternative ways of doing things and probably push harder depending on how your previous year was.  There has to be a reason as to why we keep starting all over again otherwise there would be no new year, no new month and certainly no new day.

As much as some people may say the resolution making every new year is irrelevant, I think it is very relevant and necessary. Planning is the first step to getting things done. We do not have to wait for the new year to plan but it is a perfect opportunity given the rejuvenation that comes with it. For those of us who believe in making resolutions and chasing them day in day out here is a short to do list to keep our heads high all year round;

  1. Purpose to smile more and frown less. Am told smiling lengthens our living days.
  2. Leave the past where it belongs especially the bitter and sad past. There is a reason we naturally count forward and never backwards.
  3. Try to worry less about the things that do not go as planned/expected. Worrying never solves problems it simply disrupts your peace.
  4. Do not be too hard on yourself, life situations are hard you need not to add the hardships.
  5. Take it easy, nothing is permanent not even life itself.
  6. Forgive, forgive, forgive, otherwise you too will not get God's forgiveness.
  7. Learn to make your own decisions without external forceful influence. Seek advice and opinion but do what makes you happy.
  8. Spare time for your long lost friends, quiet relatives and the people you value, these are some of those moments that last forever in our minds.
  9. Make progress in whichever things you do. Push yourself until you see progress because that is the only way to grow.
  10. Keep your word, keep your promises. Practice to stand by what you say and deliver to your best ability, it says a lot about ones character and whether people can trust you.
  11.  Say no when you mean no, and yes when you mean yes. They could be the hardest words to say straight up to someone but they makes life much much easier and peaceful.
From me, have a fruitful and blessed 2016, let's keep in touch.
