The value of time
One of the greatest virtues in existence is that of 'giving it time'. Time is a medicine of it's own prescribed by nature yet heals a million sicknesses.
Think of the countless times you have wished to finish a period of time in your life for instance a bad day, a boring lesson, hours behind bars, a bad job, a stressful experience, recovery from sickness, toxic relationship, school etc. They have always come to pass and ushered in many more better or worse experiences haven't they? Yet the next time you commence another not so pleasant period of an event you keep wondering when shall this end?!
It is our nature as human beings to get worried and impatient about things. We have the power to allow that anxiety to control us and give us stressful moods and sleepless nights. It is more of a choice, you choose to live now and worry about now or live in the future and deal with both present and future stresses. Many a times we choose to try both and the result is always under performing in current chores and sometimes getting too scared to pursue the future ghosts.
How about we try dealing with the current and solving what is at hand before we embark on the future? We all suffer from this at times it is normal and it is wise to plan for the future too but it is dangerous to dwell too much on what is yet to come. Times change, people come and others go, situations turn around, friendships form and others break, life moves on all in the course of time. Some of these events are predictable but most of them happen the way they do unexpectedly.
So the next time you are so worried about the next meal, the next job, how it shall be, when you shall go or come, who shall be there, what shall happen or even what people shall think and say remember you still have today to deal with. These worries might never come to pass, they might probably be solved way before that time. Just relax and stop worrying, God saw it already and prepared a perfect way out of it. When the bad happen in your life give it time, it all fades away and is forgotten. When the good happen be grateful and make the best out of it.
Be careful, don't waste the present thinking about the future that might never happen.
